Clinical Trials
Clinical trials play an important role in advancing pulmonary fibrosis research, improving treatments, and creating hope for patients and families. These studies evaluate new therapies, improve quality of life, and expand understanding of this complex disease. Participation may provide access to investigational treatments while contributing to future advancements in care, with all studies following strict safety and regulatory guidelines. At the Wescoe Foundation, we are committed to supporting education, awareness, and access to pulmonary fibrosis research and innovation.
What is Patient-Engaged Research?
We believe the most meaningful research begins with the people it impacts most. Patient-engaged research empowers individuals living with pulmonary fibrosis and their care partners to help shape studies, guide priorities, and influence outcomes that matter to the community. Led in part by a project team at Temple University’s College of Public Health, this approach places patients and caregivers at the center of the research process as trusted partners, helping ensure research is more relevant, impactful, and focused on improving care for all those affected by pulmonary fibrosis.
Support Groups
Support groups offer vital connection, encouragement, and expert insight for those affected by pulmonary fibrosis. We provide virtual groups for patients, care partners, lung transplantation, Veterans, and Women living with ILD and grief, each designed to build community support and confidence. Through shared experience and compassionate support, we ensure no one faces pulmonary fibrosis alone.
